Catherine Pontoriero
Catherine I. R. Pontoriero is an associate in the Labor & Employment Department. She represents clients in various industries, including finance, television broadcasting, shipping, pharmaceutical, higher education and nonprofit, on a broad spectrum of employment litigation matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including FINRA and the EEOC. These matters typically involve contractual, FMLA, disability, age and sex discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge and/or harassment claims. In addition, Catherine represents clients in raiding cases, which involve a mass exodus or raid of a company's employees, agents and/or clients. Catherine leverages her federal clerkship experience in advising clients during litigation and assisting them with procedural issues.
In addition, Catherine collaborates with clients and counsels them on all aspects of the employment relationship, including employee handbooks, internal investigations, separation agreements and non-compete matters. She has also counseled clients on settling certain administrative matters without the cost of litigation and successfully negotiated the terms of those settlements.
